Portraits of You
A Photographic Experience About Self-Discovery
By Theodora Voutsa | 88 Productions
Have you read the fig tree metaphor from Sylvia Plath?
She describes standing before a fig tree, each fig a possible life—
a different self:
a brilliant career,
a family with children,
a quiet life of art,
a world of travel,
a version of you that said yes to something else.
But as she stands there, frozen, unable to choose—
each fig begins to wither and fall.
And we ask ourselves,
What if I had picked another fig?
Who would I be now?
We carry these selves within us—
the ones we’ve become,
the ones we lost along the way,
the ones we’re still waiting to remember.
“Portraits of You” is an experience to return to those selves.
To see yourself—maybe for the first time—not through the gaze of expectation,
but through the soft, artistic, and cinematic lens of your own becoming.
This is not about branding.
Not about perfection.
Not about how the world sees you.
This is about how you see yourself.
Why It Matters
Self-image is the quiet architect of our lives.
It shapes how we move, how we speak, how we love, how we stand in a room.
And yet—how rarely we tend to it.
This quiet, tender architecture of self-image.
How rarely we pause to witness ourselves…
not styled, not staged,
but simply seen.
We crop our truths into squares.
We sharpen ourselves into bios.
We craft versions of “professional” and “presentable”—
polished headshots with folded arms, soft smiles, neutral tones.
The LinkedIn gaze.
The “personal brand” that looks like everyone else’s.
We’re told to be visible—
but only if we’re tidy.
Only if we flatten our edges.
Only if we match the mold.
And somewhere in the process,
a wild, glowing part of us quietly steps back.
Waiting for a moment we might remember
that visibility isn’t always about being seen by others—
sometimes, it’s about finally seeing ourselves.
Unfiltered.
Unedited.
Alive.
This experience is about offering you a mirror, gently held.
A lens, turned inward.
A portrait—not of who you’re expected to be,
but of who you truly are.
Vulnerable.
Powerful.
Whole.
How It Works
We begin with a pre-interview using The Los Angeles Method - a dynamic combination of Acting and Personal Development techniques, a technique I created after decades in front of and behind the camera. This method, inspired by actor preparation, invites you to explore your emotional landscape—not to perform, but to discover.
Together, we’ll talk.
We’ll unpack the version of you that wants to emerge—be it soft, sensual, angry, playful, raw, wild, or still.
This process is deep, respectful, and safe.
From there, you choose how you want to experience your session:
A quiet, intimate shoot, just you and me,
Or a full cinematic experience, with wardrobe, hair, and makeup designed to evoke the emotional tone we’ve uncovered
During the shoot, I will direct you not to pose—but to feel.
To move the way truth moves.
To speak through your hands, your breath, your gaze.
The result is a gallery of professionally captured, high-quality portraits that reflect your essence: not the image you show the world—but the one that lives beneath it.
Who This Is For
This is for anyone who feels the pull of that fig tree—
Who wonders about the parts of themselves they’ve hidden or forgotten.
It’s for women rediscovering their voice.
For men reclaiming their softness.
For artists, seekers, mothers, lovers, leaders, dreamers.
For the version of you who is ready to be revealed.
